BE AWARE WHEN HIRING YOUR PAVING CONTRACTOR
During the Spring of each year, many of you will receive offers
from companies or individuals who are willing to provide paving
services for their driveways and parking lots. The members of the
New Jersey Asphalt Pavement Association (NJAPA) who produce and
install hot mix asphalt strongly advise them to check references
before hiring any company to perform paving work.
The NJAPA wants the public to feel confident that the contractors
they hire are experienced, reliable, and insured. NJAPA recommends
that when a member of the public receives a solicitation, he or
she should verify the company and the origin of the asphalt
– the hot mix asphalt producer. There are many fine and reputable
driveway and parking lot paving contractors. We are asking that
residents and business owners please take the time to check references
to ensure that they receive full value for their paving dollar.
Asphalt producers and lay down contractors take great pride in
their work. Reputable contractors and producers are more than willing
to show examples of their work and many belong to our association.
While, many are listed in the local yellow pages of the telephone
directory under “asphalt,” our association offices are
another source of producer and installation contractor location
information.
