TRENTON, NEW JERSEY (November 9, 2016) – NJAPA thanks the voters of New Jersey for taking the time to understand and ultimately support Public Question #2 with a 54% approval rating on Election Day. This critical policy initiative ensures that gas tax revenue is dedicated to infrastructure improvement. With this approval, the State of New Jersey will now have an adequate, stable, and dedicated sources of funding for desperately needed improvements to our State’s roads, bridges, and transit systems.

The Constitutional Dedication of Gas Tax revenues, will guarantee that every penny of these taxes paid at the pump by drivers goes directly to support our critical infrastructure.

“Considering the condition of New Jersey’s highways and bridges – which are ranked seventh and sixth worst in the nation, respectively – we are committed to improving our infrastructure. The passage of Public Question #2 will create thousands of jobs, help to eliminate congestion, improve safety, spur economic development, and improve our quality of life. The voters of New Jersey have made the right choice, a choice that will provide significant and lasting benefits now, and in the future.
