NJDOT Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti recently toured the TilconNY Mount Hope quarry and asphalt production facility. Commissioner Gutierrez was joined by Deputy Commissioner Joe Bertoni on the visit which included a productive meeting with NJAPA Executive Committee members. Our discussions focused on efforts to increase recycled content in asphalt mixes as well as the outlook for New Jersey’s Capital Program and planned Paving Program for Fiscal Year 2023.
NJAPA thanks the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for making time to meet and to see our facilities in operation first hand. NJAPA often arranges facility tours for policy makers as it allows them to see first-hand the challenges and complexities our members manage on a daily basis and also provides a better understanding of the value of our industry to the economy, the environment and quality of life in New Jersey.
The Women of Asphalt is a national organization which strives to advance and support women in the asphalt industry and has invaluable benefits to be had including connecting with women around the country working in various positions within the asphalt community, mentoring programs, networking events within your state and at World of Asphalt, and employment leads.

In our ongoing effort to increase opportunities for use of recycled materials, NJAPA staff and members have held numerous discussions with legislators, local elected officials, engineering groups and other stakeholders. As part of this outreach effort we have developed a one page infographic which outlines the benefits of recycled asphalt. You can access the infographic HERE.
