Governor Murphy conditionally vetoed Senate Bill 1370 today, which expands the use of Project Labor Agreements.

NJAPA, along with other industry partners, successfully lobbied to maintain the longstanding exemption for roadway and paving projects.

The legislation expands the permissible uses of Project Labor Agreements to water and sewer treatment plants and transportation projects where the primary work is a bridge.

This critical policy initiative ensures that gas tax revenue is dedicated to infrastructure improvement. With this approval, the State of New Jersey will now have an adequate, stable, and dedicated sources of funding for desperately needed improvements to our State’s roads, bridges, and transit systems.

NJ General Assembly Approves Transportation Trust Fund

The NJ General Assembly has voted to approve the NJ Transportation Trust Fund Reauthorization and Tax Reform Legislation. A-10 which reauthorizes the Trust Fund and makes policy changes, passed by a vote of 45 Yes and 27 No, A-12 which implements the taxation changes including the gas tax increase was approved by a vote of 44 Yes and 27 No.

The NJ State Senate voted this morning to approve the NJ Transportation Trust Fund Reauthorization and Tax Reform Legislation.
